Why a Human Systems Engineer Writes for Children
For two decades, I have advised executive boards and architected human systems for global enterprises. Corporate America spends millions every year trying to retrofit their workforce with agility, empathy, and a high tolerance for continuous disruption.
But true thought leadership requires looking past the immediate friction to find the root cause. My realization was simple but profound: trying to teach these foundational life skills in a corporate workshop is starting twenty years too late.
If we want truly adaptable, buoyant organizations tomorrow, we must foster that architecture today. The Bibba & Bubba series is not a departure from my strategic advisory—it is the upstream solution. It provides a dedicated, pressure-free space for children to explore the brilliant, boundless boundaries of their own ideas, laying the cognitive groundwork for a lifetime of resilient problem-solving.
A Shared Journey of Cognitive Growth
As a parent, I realize how much time we invest in reading with our children. I wanted to write a series that honored that time—something that was genuinely fun for the adult to read aloud, featured a relatable brother-sister dynamic, and anchored on a foundational mindset we could refer back to together. With engaging alliteration and whimsical rhymes, Bibba & Bubba is designed to be a joyful shared experience.
But beneath the fun lies a secondary layer for adult development.
When parents, educators, and leaders read these stories, they are visualizing a safe, innocent metaphor for problem-solving. As you guide Bibba and Bubba through their backyard challenges, you are seeing what a growth mindset looks like in its purest form. You cannot help but parallel their childhood innovation with the friction you face in your own daily life. It is a shared journey where the child learns, and the adult remembers.
Translating Complex Strategy to the Sandbox
The Bibba & Bubba collection is designed as an intentional, ongoing series where each individual book targets a specific foundational mindset, translating the complex competencies modern organizations are starved for into a world children can touch and understand.
The Series Premiere: Growth Mindset & Innovation. Launching with Think, Tink, and Tinker Too, the first book focuses relentlessly on cultivating a growth mindset and driving innovation through the "Tinkering Mindset." It teaches children how to look at the exact resources right in front of them and creatively combine them to build something entirely new—the exact definition of doing more with what you have.
Upcoming Focus: Resilience. The second book in the series tackles the "beautiful struggle." It models how to face failure, pause, recalculate, and try again—the exact behavioral loop required to build true resilience and stay afloat amid continuous change.
Future Focus: Empathy & Collaboration. Subsequent books will explore the human side of systemic complexity. Through their ongoing sibling dynamic, Bibba and Bubba will illustrate how to exercise empathy, communicate openly, and build trust to effectively partner and achieve a shared goal.
